Kapuskasing is keeping a keen eye on the future of transportation.
At council Monday the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s Electric Truck Pilot Project was discussed and in the end supported unanimously.
Chair of Finance Dave Plourde says the pilot project is to remind municipalities that this is where the future lies, so start preparing.
Plourde says the next step is to accommodate an electric vehicle, but this can’t be done without government grants.
AMO’s Electric Truck Pilot Project would see the town of Kapuskasing receive a free hybrid electric vehicle to test within their fleet for a six-month period.
