Northern Ontario residents are seeing better access to medical care.
Thanks to the presence of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, over 19,000 northerners are seeing improvement in their care.
NOSM says since 2011, there have been about 160 people who have attended the school and graduated.therefore put up a “Doctor-Is-In” sign in the north.
Therefore, the school says that is over 150 new Doctor’s now working in the north.
Despite their recent success, the school says there’s still a lot of work to do because there are still communities that are struggling to keep their medical services available.
