KIFC Hosting A Late, Free Thanksgiving Dinner To Bring The Community Together

Communities seem to come together more over a good meal.

That is if you ask Lucy Longpeter, Cultural Resource Coordinator at the Kapuskasing Indian Friendship Centre.

Longpeter says their free Community Thanksgiving Dinner being put on tomorrow at Immaculate Conception Church is exactly that, a mix of food and community, coming together to celebrate life.

She says according to their traditions, they are required to hold a feast every season of the year, so for the fall, Thanksgiving fit perfectly.

Longpeter says the friendship centre hosts events such as this in order to bring people together, but also to continue to open their doors more and more to those within Kapuskasing.

The dinner takes place tomorrow in the Church basement beginning at 5:00pm and going until 7:00pm.
