Operation Impact was a success.
According to OPP James Bay Detachment Media Officer Stephanie Belec, the OPP released their stats for Operation Impact from the Thanksgiving long-weekend with some solid results.
Belec says there were 147 total calls for service across the four day period in Kapuskasing from October 6th through 9th.
She says of those almost 150 calls there were only 60 speeding charges.
Meanwhile, Belec says they only handed out one impaired driving charge, and two distracted driving charges.
Belec says this year’s campaign focused on educating and enforcing the ‘Big 4’ which are impaired, inattentive and aggressive driving, as well as a lack of seatbelt use.
