The opening week of October has been used as a way to draw attention to the importance of breastfeeding.
That is according to Chair of the Kapuskasing Breastfeeding Coalition Bobbi Jo Duquette, who says Breastfeeding Awareness Week is an important opportunity for the community to learn about the positive impacts of breastfeeding.
Duquette says there has been a decline in breastfeeding rates and for that reason alone they want to better inform their community.
She says the KBC made a change following their 10-year anniversary, to make their events more family orientated.
