Angus Falls Short In NDP Leadership Race

The NDP leadership race is now over.

Ontario MPP Jagmeet Singh has been named the new party leader taking 53.8 per cent of the vote, which equals over 35 thousand ballots.

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus came in second with just over 12 thousand votes.

Angus says although he disappointed he didn’t win, he is very happy with the way his team ran the race.

He says he is very thankful for all the support within the riding.

He says he will be spending some time in the riding and prepare for the fall session of parliament.
