Kapuskasing Supports Request To Remove Invasive Foreign Plant Life

Kapuskasing is keeping an eye toward the future of their agriculture.

That is according to Chair of Planning Martin Dinnissen, who says council decided Monday night to support the Township of Georgian Bay in their request to the Ministries of Natural Resources, Environment, Climate Change and Transportation.

Dinnissen says the request was for the different ministries to collaborate in removing invasive plant species on provincially owned land.

He says this was an easy request to support considering the negative effect that foreign species of plants can have on any area of agriculture.

Chair of Planning Martin Dinnissen says supporting this request is adding another small push to the different ministries.

Dinnissen says now that they will have made the ministries more aware of their circumstances, they must wait to hear back on the next step in the process.
