If you have a passion for local public radio, you can help keep it alive and well this weekend.
The local francophone radio station in Kapuskasing CKGN is putting together their 22nd Annual Radiothon this Friday and Saturday in order to raise funds to help keep the station up and running.
Long-time Radio Host Daniel Mongrain says the station is not owned by a major corporation; therefore they need to find ways to fund themselves year in and year out.
Mongrain says the station sets a goal of $10,000 each year and so far they have succeeded that consistently.
CKGN’s 22nd Annual Radiothon takes place all day Friday at the station, followed by a Spaghetti Supper and Karaoke Night beginning at 6:00pm at the KC Hall.
