Kapuskasing Resident Nominated For Song Of The Year At 2017 Native American Music Awards

A Kapuskasing resident has been nominated for Song of the Year at the 2017 Native American Music Awards.

The 17th annual award show will be a showcase of the top First Nations and Indigenous musicians, including Kapuskasing’s own Marcia Chum whose single ‘If Only’ has been nominated for song of the year.

Chum says this is a little glory at the end of a long road of struggle and hardship, and she couldn’t be happier to share it with her family, whose musical influence has been present since day one.

She says as time goes on she realizes more and more how much her life can impact others, and hopes to put this inspiring quality to good use.

The show takes place in Niagara Falls, New York on October 14th at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino.
