Hundreds Of Indigenous Leaders Gather For Cree Fest In Cochrane

From all across Canada hundreds of Indigenous leaders have come to meet in Cochrane to discuss Indigenous affairs.

The National Treaties 1-11 Conference and Cree Fest 2017 will see both political and legal discussion that focuses on the understanding of treaties which form the foundation of Indigenous affairs.

Cochrane Mayor Peter Politis says that he and the community are filled with pride to host an event like this.

Politis says it allows the community to gain a better understanding of aboriginal treaties and also how they affect everyone.
