The pavilion on the corner of McPherson is about to get a lot louder in late August.

The local band Flipside has gone out of their way to setup a fundraiser for the Kapuskasing Food Bank which will take place next Thursday night.

Organizer Marielle Roussel says the idea started with just wanting to put on some live music at the pavilion, and so they reached out to the town for help.

Roussel says one of the first steps was asking the food bank about their interest in collecting donations for the event.

She says deciding to give to the food bank was a no-brainer considering all the work they do for the community.

The jam at the pavilion will take place from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday, August 24th, there is no fee but they ask you bring non-perishable food items or cash donations.
