College Boreal Celebrates Successful Beef Farming Pilot Project

College Boreal celebrated the end of their eight-week pilot project for Beef Farming Wednesday.

In cooperation with the Beef Farmers of Ontario, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as well as the Kapuskasing Demonstration Farm, the eight-week program offered participants the chance to learn responsible beef production skills.

One of the participants of the program was Kashechewan resident Johnny Wynne, who says the skills and experience learned through the course he can now share with his community back home.

College Boreal’s Director of the Kapuskasing Campus Michelle Lebel says the pilot program clearly has succeeded and she couldn’t be more proud.

Lebel says she hopes the eight-week program has proved its worth to the college and community.
