Fedeli Believes Recordings Will Bring Truth To Light At Sudbury Bribary Trial

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says we’re in for interesting testimony at the Sudbury bribery trial of two high-ranking Liberals.

Fedeli expects recordings where a former Liberal candidate is allegedly bribed, to be front and centre.

Gerry Lougheed Junior of Sudbury and Pat Sorbara, the Premier’s former chief of staff, are charged under the Ontario Election Act.

They’re charged with bribery after allegedly offering a government appointment or job to a former candidate if he didn’t run in a by-election.

Fedeli says the recordings make a reference to another player.

Although all the accused deny the bribery charge, Fedeli says the recordings tell a very interesting story.

The trial gets underway next month and both Sorbara and Lougheed have denied bribing anyone.
