Kapuskasing has stated its support for the possible addition of two further electoral districts.
Town Council chose to approve support for the recommendation from the Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission for four new provincial electoral districts.
Kapuskasing Mayor Alan Spacek says the recommendation to split Timmins-James Bay and Kenora-Rainy River into smaller and more divided sections would be fruitful for Kapuskasing.
Spacek says it gives Kapuskasing more of a say in their riding.
He says the proposed scenario should work beneficially for the smaller northern communities.
The commission must submit a report of their feedback from northern communities to the Attorney General by August 1st.
