In the end, it was best to pay now, rather than be forced to possibly endure paying more later.
That is according to Kapuskasing Mayor Alan Spacek when speaking in regards to the DSSAB and the town’s current apportionment.
Spacek says his opinion and recommendation to council was to not stop all payments.
He also says council feels it is best to continue paying their current allocation based on the weighted assessment formula into the next year.
The CDSSAB will be introducing a new apportionment formula come January of 2018.
