Kapuskasing’s local business scene is getting a little healthier.

On Saturday morning the grand opening of Country Roots took place at 100 Government Road in Kapuskasing.

Owner of Country Roots Helen Castonguay says the focus of the store is quality and health, and a major factor behind the store was creating more healthy choices for the community from right here at home.

Castonguay says creating a place where community members can find healthy, local products was their goal.

She says the store will feature homemade care products, and they are open to helping promote unique local goods as well.

The store is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday 9:30am to 5:00pm, and will be extended for the upcoming Lumberjack Festival.
