There has been a rise in criminal code charges and drug occurrences over the past month in Kapuskasing.
The OPP released their service stats for the month of June and Media Officer Stephanie Belec says the town saw a jump in criminal code charges from roughly 150 in May to 250 this past month.
Belec says the 250 criminal code charges included 70 property crimes, another unfortunate jump from May’s statistics.
She says throughout the month Police responded to a total of almost 1,200 calls, of them 26 were for drug occurrences, almost double the amount of the previous month.
Belec says aside from the spike in criminal code charges and drug offences the stats show consistency with prior months.
