National Injury Prevention Day Sheds Light On Issue

Taking care of yourself is often an overlooked subject.

Health Sciences North and Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing are making sure that will change by celebrating National Injury Prevention Day to shed more light on the topic.

Communications Specialist Maggie Frampton says HSN want to remind everyone that during the summer season of renovations, backyard projects and outdoor sports there is a much higher rate of personal injuries.

Frampton says it is estimated that each year in Canada 15,000 lives are lost to preventable injuries, and every hour 430 Canadians suffer an injury as a result of fall, mishap or other activities.

She says HSN would like to encourage you to work, rest, and also play safe throughout the summer months.
