Kapuskasing has seen an increase in provincial offenses.
OPP Media Officer Stephanie Belec says since February provincial offenses, such as speeding or traffic violations, have climbed from roughly just over 300, to now 463 in April.
She says in the past month, the James Bay OPP detachment has responded to 1,293 calls for service.
Belec says of the calls, 156 were for criminal code charges and 41 were violent crimes.
Aside from that, Belec says the statistics in each category have remained mostly consistent in comparison to the first few months of 2017.
