As the softwood lumber disputes continue to rage between Canada and the US, Ontario is looking at ways to help the local forest industry.
Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson says the provincial government wants the federal government to come up with the ultimate solutions for the conflict.
Bisson says this will not be good for the province.
Bisson says if we push this to Ottawa, the province will get the short end of the stick.
Bisson says Ontario does not subsidize the forest industry where BC and Alberta do.
He says if the liberals let Ottawa drive this process, it will be a solution that is geared towards the BC situation.
