The possible legalization of marijuana does not necessarily mean there will be immediate recreational production of the substance in Kapuskasing.
That is according to Mayor Alan Spacek, who says the town has already applied for a medical marijuana facility which is pending approval.
However, Spacek says there will be no increase in access for non-medicinal users with the new facility.
Spacek says talk of recreational production is a separate discussion to have with citizens.
He also says town council is open to discussion of these topics amongst the community when the time comes.
