Fedeli Dissapointed with Tory Gas Tax Proposal

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is disappointed that a Tory proposal to expand the gas tax rebate to all towns and cities has failed.

Fedeli says only communities with transit systems will continue to get money from the program.

The money comes from taxes we pay at the pumps but Fedeli says the current criteria for who benefits is unfair.

Fedeli says towns that don’t have buses, still face transit related costs like bridge work, and some face big bills like one community in his riding.

Fedeli says both the Liberals and NDP voted against a Private Members Bill from the P-C’s to expand the beneficiaries.

He expects the transit rebate program to be an election issue next year.
