Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli likes that the Liberals are introducing financial literacy to students, but he says the program doesn’t go far enough.
The Liberals have introduced the pilot program in 28 schools with plans to make it province-wide next year.
Last year Fedeli introduced a Private Member’s Bill to teach Grade 10 students financial literacy and he says the Liberal version falls short of his proposal.
Fedeli says this watered-down version shouldn’t have surprised him.
Fedeli withdrew his Bill in good faith after the Liberals announced their program and he’ll wait to see how well it works before bringing back his Bill.
