There’s a push in the House of Commons to have the Canada Health Act cover hospice palliative care.
Carol Hughes, who represents Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing, is making the pitch for the wider coverage.
Hughes says people in palliative care have to deal with a lot as they get closer to death.
She says their loved ones also have a lot on their plate.
The New Democrat says the wider coverage would make matters a little easier for everyone involved.
The request to include hospice palliative care under the health act is in a petition Hughes gave fellow MPs.
