News Hughes Says Federal Budget Fails Northern Ontarians in Numerous Ways SHARE ON: Nick Birnie, contributor, Thursday, Mar. 23rd, 2017 Photo Credit: Supplied Canadians and Northern Ontarians have been failed by the new Liberal budget presented Wednesday according to Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes. Hughes says Northern Ontarians who have struggled for employment and with household debt will be extremely disappointed with the budget. //www.mykapuskasingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Hughes-Fed-Budget-2.wav Hughes says the budget failed in many different forms, whether its jobs, healthcare or services for Indigenous people. //www.mykapuskasingnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Hughes-Fed-Budget-1.wav She also says albeit the $11 billion to be invested in housing over the next 11 years is a positive, most of that money is heavily delayed and 90% of the funding won’t be spent until after the next federal election.
