The Wynne Liberals are being praised by a Northern Ontario lobby group for lowering hydro bills by 25 percent.
The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities commends the government for the rate reduction move.
FONOM says the cut shows the Wynne Liberals are committed to addressing the issue of unaffordable electricity costs.
It also welcomes news that hydro rates won’t rise above inflation for the next four years.
FONOM says it will wait for more details of the plan to be released to ensure all sectors see energy relief.
