The provincial member for Timiskaming-Cochrane is making the case for why passenger rail service needs to be restored in the north.
New Democrat John Vanthof will be in North Bay Friday afternoon talking to post-secondary students and the public.
Vanthof is expected to address the Liberal decision a few years ago to cancel the Northlander.
The NDP have said for years that for the north to grow, it needs affordable and reliable infrastructure like passenger rail.
He also will explain how to make living in the north more affordable.
