The provincial government wants families to try ice fishing for free this Family Day weekend. From Saturday to Monday you won’t need a fishing license to drop a line in water at one of the provincial parks that are open over the winter. Many communities have fishing events over the long weekend and the province hopes people take advantage of the outdoors. However it has one reminder. Even though no fishing license is needed this weekend, the province asks that you don’t go over the daily fishing limits.
