The James Bay OPP is reminding drivers that licence plate covers are illegal. That includes both tinted and clear ones.
The Highway Traffic Act says your plates have to be clean and free from obstruction. They also have to be plainly visible.
Having a covered licence plate could cost you $110. Officers in Kapuskasing, Cochrane, and Hearst will be focusing on educating drivers until the end of the month, at which point fines will start being handed out.
