OPP reminding snowmobilers to obey provincial and municipal laws

The OPP is reminding snowmobilers to follow all provincial and municipal laws.

To legally drive across or along a highway a rider has to be at least 16-years-old and have a driver’s licence or a snow vehicle licence. A highway under the law in Ontario is any kind of road intended for or used by the general public. You also aren’t allowed to modify any device on your snowmobile that’s required to be there by law.

Lastly the OPP says operators need to learn the rules for each town or city because the decision to allow snowmobiles within the limits is up to the municipality.
