The Porcupine Health Unit says the flu has shown up in quite a few of the communities it serves like Kapuskasing and Cochrane.
However it described the spread as a normal progression for this time of year.
Katelin Gambino, a nurse at the health unit, says it’s important that people not help spread the virus.
That means if you’ve come down with the flu, stay home otherwise you could contaminate your colleagues.
Gambino says the best way to protect yourself against influenza is to get a vaccine
