Toronto Toll Routes Could Impact the North

According to Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson, Toronto implementing tolls on local highways will have an impact on people living in the North. This is contrary to what the Toronto Star reported when they made a comment on how bizzare it is for an MPP from the North to comment on something that will have little to no impact on their riding.

Bisson says Toronto setting tolls on their highways will set a precedent in the province. He says it will give other municipalities the idea that if the government isn’t fixing the roads it’s ok to just set up tolls routes. Bisson says if that happens you’ll see various toll roads set up all throughout the province to help offset the cost of fixing roads.

Bisson says MPP’s from Southern Ontario weigh in on bills that affect the North so it makes sense for him to have a say in something that will not only impact residents in Toronto, but everyone across the province.
