With many people doing their holiday shopping online, the OPP is reminding residents to be aware of the different scams that are out there. Staff Sargent Baldassare Nuccio with the James Bay Detachment says this time of year local police do notice a small increase in fraudulent reports.
Nuccio says if an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is. He adds when purchasing things online or buying and selling your own stuff, it’s always best to meet in person to complete the transaction.
Local police say while they haven’t had too many reports of fraudulent activity or scams in the area recently, that doesn’t mean that it’s not a problem
