Local police will be teaming up with Spacek’s to host the third annual bluetooth drive in Kapuskasing. The OPP and Spacek’s employees will be set up out in the Circle Wednesday next week to distribute hands free devices to drivers passing by.
Staff Seargent Baldassare Nuccio with the James Bay Detachment says this campaign looks to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. Spacek’s will provide about 100 devices to be distributed and Nuccio says if you already have one, you can pass it on to someone who may need it.
Distracted driving has now become the leading cause of death on the roads.
