Less Crime Reported Throughout the Region Last Month

 

Throughout the month of November the James Bay OPP upped the number of hours spent on road safety and traffic enforcement, but saw an overall decrease in offences. From October to November officers in Cochrane, Smooth Rock Falls, Kapuskasing, Hearst and Moosonee spent an additional 500 hours on the roads, however saw the amount of provincial offences drop from over 350 to 280.

Last month officers with the James Bay Detachments also responded to 940 calls for service which is down over 100 from previous months. Once again property crimes was the most reported crime, but overall there was a significant decrease in criminal activity throughout the region.
