Local communities are reminding residents to avoid parking on the street overnight during the winter months. From midnight to 7:00am any vehicles on the side of the street could be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
In Cochrane you’re looking at a $45 ticket, in Kapuskasing there’s a $100 fine along with the cost of towing the vehicle, in Hearst it’s $30 for every hour you’re parked illegally and if you interfere with snow removal operations your vehicle may be towed immediately.
To provide the necessary snow removal, municipalities are asking for the cooperation of all motorists. The overnight winter parking ban is in effect now until April.
