Chapleau Teen Named First Ever Aboriginal Miss Teenage Canada

A Chapleau teen has become the first ever Aboriginal person to be crowned Miss Teenage Canada.

17-year-old Emma Morrison entered the national pageant, running against 70 other finalists from across the country, after being crowned Miss Teen Northern Ontario in May.

Morrison says she is honoured to the first Aboriginal and Northern Ontarian to hold the title.

She says her first goal in her new position is to raise awareness on self-acceptance and self-love.

Morrison was welcomed back to her hometown with a homecoming parade.
