Council Agrees On Extra Funding For Manor, With Sights Set On Different Strategy For Future Funding

Kapuskasing will be giving a little extra funding this year to their manor.

Council has agreed upon a total of $468,720 of funding, with $74,517 of that being additional, for North Centennial Manor in the 2017 year.

Chair of the Finance Committee David Plourde says the decision was made following a long process of due diligence for both council and manor administration.

Plourde says the reason for the drawn out process was the current financial strain on both the town and manor.

He says council is focused on taking the necessary steps to save money while helping the manor achieve their necessary funding.

He says town council will do all they can to help the manor achieve the necessary funding through other avenues going forward.
