Canada’s 150th birthday this year means more celebrations in Kapuskasing than ever before.

According to Kapuskasing CAO Guylain Baril, it also means a change in where the town has decided to fund Canada day celebrations for the summer.

Baril says this year they will instead be supporting their own celebrations, which shouldn’t be seen as a no to Moonbeams’.

He says that over the past few years they have supported Moonbeam’s Canada Day celebrations with a $1,500 grant each year.

He also says in the future Kapuskasing may go back to supporting the Moonbeam celebrations.
